Ambassador of Austria Present Letter of Credence

Monrovia, Liberia - As more international confidence builds in the governance of the country, more countries continue to accredit ambassadors to Liberia.  The latest to do so are the government of Austria. Ambassador Garhard Doujak of Austria Monday presented his letters of credence to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf at the Foreign Ministry in Monrovia.

According to an Executive Mansion release, the President praised the cordial ties which have subsisted between Liberia and Austria over the years. The Liberian President welcomed the support Liberia has received from Austria in the United Nations and expressed the hope the accreditation of ambassador near Monrovia, would further strengthen the bilateral relations between Liberia and the Austria.

The President informed the Ambassadors of Liberia’s potential in the agriculture and mining sectors, and expressed the hope that Italian and Austrian investors would take advantage of the abundant investment opportunities Liberia offers. The Private Sector, the president noted, provides the main engine of growth, and urged the ambassadors to help promote the investment opportunities in Liberia.

Ambassador Doujak lauded President Johnson Sirleaf and her government for the progress taking place in Liberia. He promised to work towards strengthening the bilateral ties existing between his country and Liberia.

The Austrian diplomat was accompanied by Outgoing Foreign Minister, Ambassador George Wallace.
